Kettering student pitches in at Music in the Parks

Kettering student Kayla Petrach, a senior from Davison majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Math, helped out as a volunteer at Music in the Parks in Mott Park July 27. The event attracted nearly 600 visitors. Kayla, who co-ops at Altair Engineering, plans to pursue her PhD in Math Education.

On-campus parking restrictions Aug. 6-8

On Saturday, Aug. 6, starting at 6 AM, contractors will be sealing and striping the Campus Center visitor parking area, fleet parking south of the Campus Center, the access drive on the north side of the Mott Center, the Recreation Center loading dock and Lot No. 1 (the upper lot north of the Academic Bulding). …

Kettering students collecting care package items for soldiers in Afghanistan

The Kettering Student Government is sending a care-package to soldiers in Afghanistan. Dropboxes have been placed in the Campus Center, Academic Building, Mott Building, and the Thompson Hall Dorms. The entire Kettering community is invited to participate. A list of items being collected is after the jump.

Lambda Chi Alpha volleyball event featured on ABC 12

The annual Lambda Chi Alpha 48 hours of volleyball event was featured on ABC 12 News over the weekend. The event, which also featured live music and a carwash, raised money for Genesee County Catholic Charities, an organization that operates many local food banks. See ABC 12′s video report here.

United Way Kickoff is Aug. 18 in the Rec Center

The United Way Kickoff for Genesee County will be on campus Thursday, Aug. 18, in the Rec Center. Events begin at 5:30 p.m. and conclude with the opening the annual Bauman Charity Race at 7 p.m. This year’s goal is $2.8 million.  This year’s chair is Christopher Wise of the Randy Wise Racing Team.  Read …
