More than 600 runners are off and running from Dow Diamond in Midland, launching the first leg of a 26.2-mile journey through Saginaw County and into Bay City. And as the starting gun was nearing, tension was heavy in the air.
“I’m a little nervous right now,” said Zach Johnson, a 22-year old Kettering University student making his marathon debut. “I’m trying not to think about anything right now.”
